The 2008 Presidential Election and The American Future

As you already know, the 2008 presidential election between Republican John Mccain and Democrat Barack Obama is the most monumental presidential election in American history. The 1st African-American to become the presidential nominee for the Democratic Party and the 1st woman to be Vice President on the Republican Presidential ticket. Both magnificent milestones in American history, but what will they offer we Americans as we look forward to a brighter future for ourselves and the next generation?

The United States is going through its toughest economic times since the Great Depression and we're still at war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Recently the stock market plunged then picked back up due to a possible bail out of wall street by the U.S. government, but that plan may hold sketchy results in the future for the American economy. Not to mention the recent home forclosures and job layoffs that have hurt middle-class and working-class environments where families are struggling to keep their homes as well as put clothes and food on their children and themselves. The problems in America seem endless and we need a whole new direction concerning our government policies while somehow making the "American Dream" more possible.

While the Obama/Mccain campain camps fight for our votes to become the next United States president, the economy is still in a dismal state where we Americans continue to struggle even more. When the next president is elected, the 1st thing I want to hear is how they will immediately start restoring the economy, ending massive home forclosures, creating more jobs/ending job layoffs, and bringing our troops home from Iraq...PERIOD. We Americans need substantive plans and ideas with details and specifics so we can get back on the right track. The presidential nominee who gives that outline and more with a passionate promise will most certainly get my vote.

With that being said, I'm not going to tell you who I'm voting for due to this being a bi-partisan type blogg. If you know me than you know where I stand LOL :-). Bottom line is that the next president must get to work and start putting together policies and plans to better the American future.
